Drawing, adding information and modifying Images

Learn how to draw, annotate, modify, add information to images and save copies of images

Step 1: Open Exam.

Step 2: Double click on the image.

Step 3: Click on the DRAW tab. This will open the annotation and text options.

Step 4: Set the Annotation Color:

  • Important: Choose the pen color before selecting the drawing tool.
  • The default color is white.
  • To change to black, click the white pen option. The button will change to black.
  • Click the button again to toggle between white and black.

Step 5: Click on the Drawing button to being annotating.

Note: See Step 6, for instructions on how to save your drawings.

Freehand Drawing:

  • Click the swirled button.
  • Move the cursor to the image.
  • Click and drag to draw your line.
  • Release the mouse button to stop drawing.

Drawing an Arrow:

  • Click the arrow button.
  • Move the cursor to the image.
  • Click and drag to create the tail of the arrow.
  • Release the mouse button to create the arrowhead .

Drawing a Circle:

  • Click the circle button.
  • Move the cursor to the center of the desired area.
  • Click and drag to create the circle.
  • Release the mouse button.

Adding Text:

  • Click the T button.
  • Move the cursor to the desired text location.
  • Click and drag from the top-left to the bottom-right to create a text box.
  • Type your text. It will automatically wrap to the next line.
  • Click the T button again to lock the text in place.
    Note : Use the PgUp and PgDown keys to adjust the text size.

Erasing Annotations:

  • Click the Eraser button.
  • Move the cursor to the area you want to erase.
  • Click and drag to erase.
  • Release the mouse button.

Cropping an Image:

  • Click the double rectangle button.
  • Move the cursor to the top-left corner of the desired crop area.
  • Click and drag to the bottom-right corner.
  • Release the mouse button.
  • The software will prompt you to save a copy of the cropped image to the exam.
    Note : If you release the mouse button too soon, click UNDO to restore the image.

Note : Double-clicking outside the text box too quickly, clicking CLEAR, or clicking UNDO will remove all annotations.

The original image's integrity is preserved. Annotations and cropping create copies.

Step 6: Click the Copy button in the View Exam screen.

  • This saves the annotated image within the same exam as the original.
  • The annotated image will be stacked on top of the original image, and the original image will remain unchanged.
