Comparing Exams
How to Compare Exams Using Three Different Methods
Method 1: Comparing Exams with Float Exam or Float All button
The XDR Floater window is perfect for keeping patient images visible while you work in other applications. It stays on top of all other open programs, so you can always see the images.
Here's how to use it:
1. From your Patient Exams list, pick the exam you want to see.
2. Click FLOAT EXAM (for one exam) or FLOAT ALL (for all images in that exams list).
3. The XDR Floater window will pop up. Click any image thumbnail to see it larger.
4. Use the enhancement tools on the right side of the window to adjust the image as needed.
5. Click EXIT to close out the floater window.
Method 2: Search for Specific Images
The Search function lets you quickly find and view particular images from a patient's exams, which is great for comparisons.
Here's how to do it:
1. In the Patient Exams list, click the Search button.
2. A pop-up window with a tooth odontogram will appear.
3. Choose how to search:
-
- For specific teeth, select "Any of selected" and click the teeth on the odontogram.
- To find all images in the patient's exams, select "All of selected."
4. Click Search. A new window will open with your results.
5. Select the images you want to view or compare.
6. Click "Get selected" to display your chosen images.
7. To leave the search window, click "Back to Pat. info."
Method 3: Create "Free Images" for Direct Comparison
This method lets you make duplicate "Free Images" that you can move between different exams for easy side-by-side comparisons.
Here's how to do it:
1. Open up your exam.
2. Right-click on the image(s) you want to compare. They'll appear in a small, separate window.
3. Drag images (by its blue title bar) to the bottom of your screen.
4. Click button, then open the exam you want to compare your images with.
5. Grab the "Free Images" by its blue bar and drag the images into position for a direct comparison. You can also double-click on any image to enlarge it.
6. Once you're done comparing, simply click the "X" to close the Free Images window.
